Working days calculator

Count the working days between two dates, for any weekend pattern.

Optional.

How it counts

Both the start and end dates are included. Every weekend day is removed, then any public holidays you enter.

Worked example

From 1 to 31 October 2026 there are 31 days. With a Saturday and Sunday weekend, 9 are weekend days, leaving 22 working days. With a Friday and Saturday weekend, 10 are weekend days, leaving 21.

Weekends around the world

Most countries, including the UAE, the UK, the US and India, use Saturday and Sunday. Some, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait, use Friday and Saturday. Pakistan's public sector uses Saturday and Sunday, while many private firms work on Saturday. Pick what applies to your job.
