Worked example

Basic salary AED 4,000. The hourly basic wage is AED 4,000 × 12 ÷ 365 ÷ 8 = AED 16.44. Ten hours of normal overtime pay 10 × 16.44 × 1.25 = AED 205.48. Four hours between 10 pm and 4 am pay 4 × 16.44 × 1.5 = AED 98.63.

Some employers divide the monthly basic by 30 instead of using 12 ÷ 365. The difference is small, but if your payslip uses another method, ask HR which one applies.
